Forth and Clyde Navigation Company

The Forth and Clyde Navigation Company owned and built the Forth and Clyde Canal.
In 1846 it bought the Monkland Canal which included the part completed Drumpeller Railway.
In 1848 the company sponsored an extension act to the Drumpeller Railway under the title of the Grangemouth Railway.
In 1867 the company was bought up by the Caledonian Railway.
