The Glasgow, Barrhead and Neilston Direct Railway was formed on the 4th August 1845. It was leased to the Caledonian Railway with effect from the 1st of August 1849.
It was absorbed by the Glasgow, Barrhead and Kilmarnock Joint Railway with effect from 12th July 1869.
