North Union Railway

The North Union Railway was formed in 1834 by the merger of the Preston and Wigan Railway and the Wigan Branch Railway.
In 1844 it bought out the Bolton and Preston Railway.
It was absorbed on a joint basis by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway and the London and North Western Railway in July 1889, having been leased by them since July 1846.
