Oakwood Mineral Railway
From Railways
The Oakwood Mineral Railway was a small railway (waggon way may be more accurate) in the Port Talbot area of South Wales.
It had a 'main line' running roughly North West from Llewellyn's Quay in Port Talbot Docks to the Velindre area.
It crossed (or was crossed by) the South Wales railway on the level at a point immediately east of Port Talbot Station.
It survived long enough for a connection to be laid in from the Port Talbot Railway and Docks company's Port Talbot Central station (opened 1898) but was out of use by 1917.
Most of the route seems to have been preserved in 'Oakwood Road'.This article is a Stub. you can help UK Railways by expanding it.
