Swansea Vale Railway

From Railways

The Swansea Vale Railway was originally incorporated as the Swansea Valley Railway in 1846 and after a somewhat messy history was re-incorporated with the new name in 1855.

In 1861 it absorbed the Palleg Tramroad and was itself first leased, then eventually bought up by the Midland Railway. The act authorising the takeover was passed in August 1876.
